Giuliana Rancic is mourning the loss off her friend, Maureen Heaton, who was taken too soon at the age of 42

In a post on Instagram, the E!News anchor shared a photo of her and her friend with a beautiful tribute.

“I lost my dear friend and colleague of 18 years, Maureen Heaton. At 42 years young, Maureen was taken from us by brain cancer far too soon,” Giuliana wrote. “She was not only a great woman but was the heart and soul of E! News and we will miss her dearly. She embodied class, beauty, smarts and had a heart of gold. Her smile didn’t just light up a room, it lit up a world.”

Giuliana began her career at E! in 2002 as a reporter and alter became an anchor in 2005. She later co-hosted E!’s Fashion Police  and starred in a reality show with her husband Bill Rancic,  Giuliana and Bill. In 2015 Giuliana left E! only to return to the anchor spot in 2018.

Maureen was with E! for 21 years working her way to Supervising Producer, News Operations. According to her obituary, “Maureen passed away on March 23, 2019, at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

“Maureen had a zest for life-she was a shining light and lived with a positive spirit, illuminating smile and demonstrated incredible kindness to anyone she met. Maureen, or Mo, as friends and family called her, had endless love for her family and her friends, music, exercise, movies, Boston sports and, most importantly, Tom Brady and the Patriots.”

Giuliana concluded her post with a sweet message to her friend. “Maureen, you will be missed but never forgotten. See you in heaven, my friend.”

Our condolences go out to Giuliana and Maureen’s family and friends.
