We have lost yet another beloved member of the Glee family.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Jane Galloway Heitz has passed away at the age of 78 on Nov. 13 of congestive heart failure . Most fans will recognize her from Glee, where she played the role of Lillian Adler, who was William McKinley High School’s former glee club director.

And while her character wasn’t featured on the much loved show every week, she did play a pivotal part in the storyline both in the director’s cut of the pilot in 2009 and on the show’s finale back in 2015. Heitz also appeared in television shows such as The Big Bang Theory, Shameless, CSIMonkPrison Break and Grey’s Anatomy.

According to her obituary, she is survived by her daughter Amie Richardson nad  her grandchildren Claire, Jack and William. Services for the grandmother of three will take place in Illinois on Nov. 30. In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorial donations be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Organization.

Throughout the years, the cast of Glee has been rocked by a number of deaths. Cory Monteith, who played the role of Finn Hudson, passed away in 2013 at the age of 31. Then, in 2018, Mark Salling committed suicide at the age of 35. He was best known for playing Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman in Glee.

We send our condolences to all who mourn the death of Heitz.
