Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are back. The dynamic duo are returning for the sixth season of their hit Netflix series, Grace and Frankie. The series follows Grace and Frankie as their lives were upended when their spouses (Martin Sheen, Sam Waterston) reveal they are gay and leave their wives for each other.
To kick off the new year, Netflix released the new trailer for the sixth season. In it, Grace (Jane Fonda) marries her boyfriend Nick, played by Peter Gallagher and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) is having some issues with the new arrangement.
“Raise your glasses people,” Frankie says to the family. “Grace and Nick.”
“Surprise,” Grace says.
“You’re worried things are going to change,” Grace said. “But things won’t change.”
“Everything’s going to change,” adds Frankie.
And she’s right. Grace adjusts to being married to a younger man, as she herself deals with the pains of aging. As a result the two ladies create a new product to help seniors. That product seems to land them on the popular reality series, Shark Tank.
The full cast returns including Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, June Diane Raphael and Baron Vaughn. Netflix revealed that the show will end it’s run after the seventh and final season.
“We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season,” Lily and Jane told Deadline. “We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well. We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around.”
Grace and Frankie season 6 premieres on Netflix on January 15.
