As the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements continue to change women’s lives, celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow are feeling empowered to tell their stories.
When the Harvey Weinstein scandals broke, Gwyneth revealed her alleged #MeToo moment with Harvey at the time. She also revealed that her boyfriend at the time, Brad Pitt, came to her defense. However, recently the Oscar winner appeared on The Howard Stern show and revealed what actually happened between her, Harvey and Brad.
“We had one instance in a hotel room where he made a pass at me,” she recalled. ” I really kind of stood up to him and I told my boyfriend at the time, Brad Pitt.” It was weird. I was alone in a room with him. I was blindsided. I told [Brad] right away and I was very shaken by the whole thing. I had two movies I had signed up to do with [Harvey].”
Gwyneth went on to explain that when she encountered Harvey at a later date, Brad took action.
“We were at the opening of “Hamlet” on Broadway and Harvey was there, Gwyneth said. “Brad Pitt—it was the equivalent of throwing him against the wall. It was so fantastic because what he did was, he leveraged his fame and power to protect me at a time when I didn’t have fame or power yet.”
When Howard asked if Brad ever told Gwyneth what he said to Harvey, the actress said yes, he came back and told her at the moment. “He said, ‘If you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I’ll kill you… or something like that,” she revealed. “It was great.”
Just another reason to love Brad Pitt.
