Our condolences to Hamilton star Miguel Cervantes and his wife Kelly, who have suffered the devastating loss of their 3-year-old daughter, Adelaide.
Kelly took to Instagram to share the news of their little girl, who died days before her fourth birthday. Michael later re-shared Kelly’s post.
“The machines are off. Her bed is empty. The quiet is deafening,” she wrote. “Miss Adelaide Grace left us early Saturday morning. She went peacefully in my arms and surrounded by love. Finally, she is free from pain, reactions and seizures but leaves our hearts shattered. We love you so much Adelaideybug and forever after 💔💜.”
According to People, Adelaide had been suffering from seizures most of her life due to epilepsy. She suffered her first seizure at just seven months old and was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms (IS).

The machines are off. Her bed is empty. The quiet is deafening. Adelaide left us early Saturday. She went peacefully in her mother's arms, surrounded by love. Finally, she is free from pain + seizures but leaves our hearts shattered. We love you so much Adelaideybug and forever after 💔💜
The family also shared a statement with People.
“The Cervantes family is heartbroken to announce that their baby girl Adelaide Grace passed away early Saturday morning,” they told the magazine. “She was held in the loving arms of her family as she peacefully achieves the ‘calm’ for which they’ve been searching for so long. They would like to extend their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with words of support and prayer and will continue to feel all the love as they go through this difficult time.”
Understandably, Michael is taking a short break from his role as Alexander Hamilton in the Chicago play Hamilton. The couple also share an older son, Jackson.
Hamilton creator, Lin Manuel Miranda took to Twitter to ask fans to comfort the couple at this time.

Kelly told People of her daughter, “Oh, she was feisty as hell. She is a warrior. I have never met someone stronger in my life. She shared her opinions in her own way. She came into the world and she had a mission and a story. I’m so proud that no one will ever forget her story.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Miguel, Kelly and the Cervantes family.
