Actor and producer Hillary Swank is currently on cloud nine following her marriage on Saturday (Aug. 18) to social venture entrepreneur Phillip Schneider. And in a recent interview with Vogue magazine, Swank admitted that this whole love story began…on a blind date!
“It was a blind date set up by actor Misha Collins’s wife Vicki and another close friend Jean,” Swank says. “We met at 10:00 a.m. and parted ways at 11:00 p.m. We clearly enjoyed our time!”
Flash forward four years, and the couple married in the beautiful resort town of Carmel, California, out in the landscape that they love. “We found exactly what we were looking for at the Santa Lucia Preserve,” she says. “It’s a stunning private community surrounded by 20,000 acres of conservancy and an intimate redwood grove populated with trees that are over 800 years old.”
Swank, who donned a beautiful Elie Saub Couture wedding dress that took 150 hours to create thanks to some stunning embroidery, says that the ceremony was something she will never forget.
“It was timeless. There is just no other way to describe it,” says Hilary. “I was overwhelmed with such gratitude and thanks to be marrying the man of my dreams and to see all the people we love together in the middle of such a profound setting. It was truly a dream come true.”
