We now know what killed Bobbi Kristina Brown’s ex-boyfriend Nick Gordon.
According to People magazine, Gordon died on Jan. 1 of an accidental heroin overdose. He was hospitalized for seven hours in a state of cardiac arrest before eventually passing away. Reports say that Narcan was found in his system at the time of his death. Narcan is generally used to reverse the affects of an overdose.
Nick Gordon was just 30 years old at the time of his death.
“We are devastated by the loss of my beautiful brother,” Brown’s brother Jack Walker Jr. said in a statement to People magazine following news of Gordon’s death. “He leaves a void in the hearts of my family and his friends. Nick’s battle in life was not an easy one. I will be forever grateful that my God afforded a small moment at the very end of Nick’s life, and I was able to hold his hand as he journeyed on.”
The revelation is yet another piece of the sad story that began when Brown’s mother, singing legend Whitney Houston, passed away in 2012 as a result of substance abuse. During that painful time, Brown found comfort in the arms of Gordon. Yet, three years later, Brown passed away at the age of 22, and Gordon was later found liable in the wrongful death case of the heir to music royalty. He was ordered to pay $36 million to her estate.
