Jenna Bush Hager Shares Heartfelt Tribute to George H.W. Bush on 94th Birthday

-

All who have worried in recent months about the health of George H.W. Bush are sure to find comfort in the latest picture of the former president, shared on Instagram by his granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager.

“Happiest 94th to our Gamps, the anchor of our family, our compass,” Hager wrote on her Instagram page on June 12 as her grandfather celebrated his 94th birthday at the family’s east coast summer home. “I’ve loved being with you in your favorite place, by the magnificent sea.”

Indeed, the family gathered alongside Bush in Maine as he celebrated a week long’s worth of birthday festivities, including what would have been his dear wife Barbara’s 93rdbirthday. “Celebrating a life well lived with our dearest tonight,” Hager wrote on her Instagram page on Saturday (June 9.) “MISS you so much Ganny.”

Americans will recall that on top of dealing with the sadness of losing his wife back in April, Bush has also been dealing with health issues of his own involving low blood pressure and fatigue.

Yet, this is not a man who dwells on his own problems for long.

“I think he definitely worries more about other people than he is himself,” Hager said in a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine.  “But that’s how he’s always been, as you know.”

Jenna shared another sweet picture on George H.W.’s birthday last year with her sister.

One more. Birthday selfie with the man. 92!
