It’s official. No one delivers a tribute performance quite like Jennifer Lopez. On the heels of her buzz-worthy Motown tribute performance at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10, Lopez returned to the airwaves on Sunday (Feb. 17) to perform “Heartbreak Hotel” on the Elvis All-Star Tribute on NBC.
And she killed it.
Adorning a black sparkly body suit, Lopez seemed quite in her element during the sultry song that Presley made a classic back in 1956. With a wind machine blowing back her long blonde hair, Lopez shined with the help of Willie Nelson’s son Lukas Nelson backing her up on guitar.
“She said it’s been a dream of hers to play to front of a rock & roll band, and she got her dream realized,” Nelson said in an interview after the performance, which was taped in Los Angeles back in October according to Rolling Stone. “I think she killed it. She did a great job.”
Lopez was just one performer in a star-studded cast to pay tribute to the King himself on the show, which commemorated Presley’s “68 Comeback” special. Other stars joining in on the fun included Blake Shelton—who hosted the event—Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes and Kelsea Ballerini, who delivered the ultra-emotional “Always On My Mind.”
