It’s spring break time, and yes, even Joanna Gaines needs a break every once in awhile from her empire. The decorator extraordinaire did get her much deserved break during a recent family vacation in Mexico.

“Our little getaway filled our tanks and it’s safe to say we all miss waking up to the sand and the sound of the waves,” Gaines said on Instagram alongside some pics from their Texas home.  “But simple beauties and everyday miracles are scattered all around us, whether we’re on vacation or in our own backyard.”

Our little getaway filled our tanks and it’s safe to say we all miss waking up to the sand and the sound of the waves. But simple beauties and everyday miracles are scattered all around us, whether we’re on vacation or in our own backyard. This morning, we went outside to check on the garden and noticed it’s in full bloom. Within seconds we got lost in the sea of tulips and it seemed as though all of our yearnings to be back in the sand and our anxieties about schedules and mounds of laundry faded away. The garden has always had a way of welcoming us home and grounding our hearts in gratefulness. And as far as the laundry goes… I’m still in vacation mode and it will have to wait another day.

Just one day earlier, Gaines shared a series of pics from their beachside vacation, showing her and her family enjoying some stress free moments.

“Leaving Tulum with rest minds and full hearts,” the Fixer Upper star wrote alongside the pics, with a few showing baby Crew on the beach for the first time.

Yet, in true Gaines fashion, returning to Waco has its own beauty…beauty that deserves to always be noticed.

“This morning, we went outside to check on the garden and noticed it’s in full bloom,” Gaines said. “Within seconds we got lost in the sea of tulips and it seemed as though all of our yearnings to be back in the sand and our anxieties about schedules and mounds of laundry faded away. The garden has always had a way of welcoming us home and grounding our hearts in gratefulness.”

But the laundry? Well, that’s not so much fun, even for Gaines.

“And as far as the laundry goes… I’m still in vacation mode and it will have to wait another day,” she wrote.
