When you are a high school kid with an appointment to see your guidance counselor, let’s just say it doesn’t usually end up as the most exciting moment of your day. But for a group of lucky high school students in California, seeing their guidance counselor turned out to be an opportunity of a lifetime. Because yes, their guidance counselor was none other than wrestling great and actor John Cena.
“I’m willing to bet that your old guidance counselor didn’t have a Ph.D. in kicking ass,” Cena told the students in the session that was featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I’m here to talk to you guys about what you want to do with your life.”
Decked out in a bright blue suit and a new hair style that shows off his dark brown locks, Cena listened intently as the students began to spout off what they want to do when they grow up. One wanted to be a nurse. Another wanted to be a psychologist. And yes, another wanted to go into music.
Of course, this caused Cena to ask the students if they were in fact smart.
“I’m one of those folks that are dumb but somehow weaseled through the system,” Cena said seriously as the kids chuckled.
