Justin Timberlake is speaking out about rumors concerning a romance between him and his costar in the upcoming movie Palmer, Alisha Wainwright.

Photos of the couple holding hands and looking cozy were published by The Sun a few weeks ago, as the costars were out on the town following a day of filing. Sources had come out to say that the photos were innocent and nothing was going on between the couple. The two costars were just out with fellow actors hanging out after filming the movie Palmer. Still, rumors persisted and gossip ensued, due to the romantic nature of the photos and video where Alisha was sitting with Justin with her hand on his knee and holding hands.

In response to the headlines, Justin took to Instagram to share an apology to his wife Jessica Biel and their son Silas for his “strong lapse in judgement.”

“I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love,” Justin began the post. “A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgement-but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.”

He continued, “This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that.”
