Kathy Griffin started the new year off with a bang. The comedian got hitched to longtime boyfriend Randy Bick on New Year’s day.

First Kathy took to Instagram to share a video on New Year’s Eve with a countdown of their own. “Surprise, we’re getting married,” the couple told fans. “Tonight, after midnight. Very atypical, very fun and you’re going to die when you see the officiant” they added before telling fans to check her feed for the upcoming nuptials.

“Check out an unedited hilarious and fun beginning to our wedding ceremony Yes, that is the great Lily Tomlin as our officiant and you will enjoy her wife, Jane Wagner, chatting in the background,” she captioned the video.

After some chitter chatter, the couple got serious and Lily Tomlin took the reigns.

“What was supposed to be a shallow, toot it and boot it one-night stand has grown and flourished into something far more meaningful. They stayed together,” Lily said to kick off the event.

The couple’s celebrity friends were quick to share their congratulatory messages in the comment section.

“Um. Amazing. 💋💋💋 Big greatness right here,” shared Selma Blair.

“Omg Kathy. This is everything,” added Debra Messing.

“You’re married!! Congratulations you two!!! ♥️, said Melanie Griffith.

The couple began dating in 2011. Prior to the wedding, Kathy shared a photo of the couple from their first date in 2011 saying, This was our first formal date in September 2011! We are in the back of a limo provided by the one only @GloriaEstefan because her team arranged for me to surprise her as a back up “dancer” when she performed at the Alma awards!”

This is the second marriage from Kathy, who was married Matthew Moline in 2000. The couple divorced in 2005.
