Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry have come to expect the unexpected as they serve as judges on American Idol.
But no one was expecting this.
In a preview for this weekend’s episode shared exclusively with People magazine, there looks to be a gas leak in the venue where they are holding auditions.
“Do you guys smell gas?” Perry asks in the clip. “It’s pretty intense,”
“We’re getting heavy propane,” Bryan adds.
“I have a slight headache from it,” continues Perry. “Oh it’s bad, it’s really bad.”
Soon, the venue is evacuated and firefighters arrive.
“This is not a joke, there really is a gas leak,” Bryan tells the emergency crews.
The camera then pans to Perry, who tells everyone around her that she is officially not feeling good.
And then, she collapses and falls to the ground.

Now, did she really collapse, or was it just Perry being Perry? Well, that question will certainly be answered on Sunday night (Feb. 23.) But undoubtedly, the proposed gas leak did put a definite kink in the audition process on that particular day of taping, especially for those nervous contestants who were right in the middle of their audition process when the emergency happened.
But as with anything else, the show must go on, right?
