On any other day, Kelly Clarkson is the ultimate superwoman. But on Sunday (May 5,) the music superstar demonstrated that even she needs help sometimes.

“Quick recap… recovering after surgery super duper sucks,” she wrote on her Twitter page. “Turns out I don’t “rest” well (so bored), pain meds make me feel a different kind of horrible 2 where I question if I’d just rather feel the pain instead, & 2 out of the 3 scars feel as if Lord Voldemort is always near.”

Fans will recall that Clarkson underwent surgery on Thursday (May 2) at Cedars-Sinai Medical center in Los Angeles to remove her appendix due to acute appendicitis just hours after hosting the Billboard Music Awards last Wednesday (May 1.) Despite experiencing pain during the week before the show, Clarkson was determined to make it work.

“As for how it all went down, her team told producers ahead of the show during rehearsals and said that nothing will change, the show will go on, she will proceed as planned and she did do everything as planned,” a source told People magazine. “She was like ‘I’m going to power through.’”

On top of everything else, Clarkson also told USA Today that she recently moved her family from Tennessee to California.

“Everyone we know is still shocked,” she said.

Kelly plans to return to The Voice live show on Monday night (May 6.)
