Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon Create Hilarious Doo-Wop on “The Tonight Show”

Much music is played on the set of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. So it’s no surprise that when Fallon has musical guests on the show, he puts them to work.

That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday night’s (Sept. 18) episode of the late-night talk show, when guests Queen Latifah and Kelly Clarkson joined host Jimmy Fallon on the couch for a little sing-along. Using an iPad app that helps people harmonize on songs, the three set down some impressive grooves to the fifties hit “Earth Angel.”

And yes, it didn’t turn out half bad!

Of course, not all went as planned, Fallon seemed to have a bit of trouble trying to start the app in the first place. And yes, it was hard to see if the three were actually on key together. But it all came together nicely, much to the delight of the talented threesome.

The collaboration was just a piece of a packed show for Fallon. While there, Clarkson for example announced her plans to debut a brand new daytime talk show come 2019.

“I didn’t think I’d ever do it,” Clarkson told Fallon. “I love talking. It’s one of my favorite pastimes. It’s hard for me to shut up though. You have to listen to people who come on your show. (Laughs.) My show is going to be a little different than anything out there.”
