As two of the biggest stars in music today, Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift always seem to have each other’s back. And this bond was certainly on display this past weekend.

As most fans know, Swift has been in the news as of late as she continues to feud with music executive Scooter Braun, who recently purchased Swift’s music catalog that was being held at her former label Big Machine Records. Taylor took to Tumblr to share her dissatisfaction.

“I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years,” she wrote.

Following the back and forth between Taylor and label head Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun’s wife, celebs have come out to take sides. Enter Kelly Clarkson, who had a suggestion for her friend.

“Just a thought,” Clarkson said on Twitter on Saturday (July 13.) “U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on exactly how U did them but put brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions. I’d buy all the new versions just to prove a point.”

And if that ain’t girl power, we don’t know what is.

While Swift has yet to respond to Clarkson’s suggestion via the public airwaves of social media, she undoubtedly is listening to any suggestions of how she can put this drama behind her. Currently out with her new single “You Need to Calm Down,” Swift is set to release her new record Lover next month.
