Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary isn’t talking about his possible involvement in a recent boat crash that killed two people. Yet, he is expressing his sympathies.
“Out of respect for the victim’s families and to fully support the ongoing investigation I feel it is inappropriate to make further comments at this time,” the Shark Tank star said following the incident that occurred last Saturday (August 24). “My heartfelt prayers and condolences to the victims, the families and those affected by this loss.”
However, since making that statement, more details regarding the crash have surfaced, and it looks like O’Leary may be in some deep trouble. Currently, according to various news reports, police in Canada are beginning to take a closer look at what happened.
“Right now, on the scene, we’re looking at the boats and a full investigation into reconstructing the collision,” Joe Scali, the West Parry Sound OPP’s media officer told Global News in Canada. “We’re also determining all parties involved and, of course, making sure all injuries are addressed as well.”
And while no charges have been filed as of yet, it’s becoming clear that O’Leary’s boat was definitely involved.
“Both vessels had left the scene and when they reached the location, both vessels were in touch with ambulance for emergency services,” said Scali of the accident that occurred long after sundown. “At this time in the investigation, the OPP is unable to comment on which vessel hit what vessel and that will be determined at the end of the investigation.”
What isn’t clear at the moment is who was in fact driving O’Leary’s boat when the crash happened. Some reports have said that O’Leary says his wife was driving.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
