One of NASCAR’s most legendary family expanded on Sunday (June 3) when it was announced that Kyle Petty and wife Morgan are celebrating the birth of their son Overton Owens Petty.
And if you ask us, he looks like a racer already!
“Morgan and I are SO Happy to welcome our son into our lives! Overton Owens Petty born 6-3-18,” the proud daddy posted on his Instagram page on Monday (June 4.) “Baby and Mom are doing GREAT! We can’t wait for the adventure to begin!”
The very next day, Petty headed to his Twitter page to thank everyone for their well wishes. “Thank you to Everyone that’s tweeted Morgan, Overton and me these last few days,” wrote Petty, who celebrated his 58th birthday last Saturday (June 2.) “It’s been an overwhelming outpouring from all you guys and very humbling. Birth and death have a way of putting Life in perspective. Today our life is Blessed…”

NASCAR fans will recall that Petty lost his son and aspiring NASCAR driver Adam in a crash back in 2000. Adam was only 19 years old at the time of the crash.
And while that tragedy is still fresh in the minds of so many, this new life is certain to bring only joy to Kyle and Morgan, who got married in December of 2015.
Everyone here at One Country send our well wishes to the Petty family!
