Nearly ten years ago, actor Liam Neeson found himself mourning the sudden death of his dear wife Natasha Richardson as a result of a skiing accident. Richardson was only 45 at the time of her death.
And now, he finds himself mourning yet another unspeakable tragedy.
According to People magazine, Neeson’s nephew Ronan Sexton died last weekend nearly five years after a fall in which he sustained serious head injuries.
Sexton was 35 years old at the time of his death. And if that doesn’t make your heart hurt, we don’t know what will.
Sexton’s fall occurred back in 2014 when a night out with friends turned tragic when he fell 20 feet from a phone booth in the wee hours of the morning. At the time, his family, including Neeson’s sister Bernadette, issued a statement thanking everyone for their support.
“Ronan is receiving wonderful treatment from the dedicated staff at Hurstwood Park,” the statement read while also thanking everyone for the outpouring of “love, support, prayers and good wishes for Ronan.”
Neeson is set to return to the big screen later this year when he appears alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in Men in Black International.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Neeson and all those who mourn Sexton’s death.
