In a heartbreaking post on Instagram, Luke Perry’s son, Jack, wrote a message to his dad, vowing to make him proud.

Luke Perry died on Monday (March 4) following a massive stroke he suffered days before. Friend, family, fans and co-stars felt the loss, taking to social media to express their feelings of shock and disbelief.

Jack chose to speak out two days after the passing of his dad. He shared a photo of himself in the wrestling ring, followed by a throwback photo of himself as a little boy, with his dad.

“He was a lot of things to a lot of people,” Jack began. “To me, he was always Dad. He loved supported me in everything, and inspired me to be the best that I could possibly be. I’ve learned so much from you, and my heart is broken thinking about everything you won’t be here for. I’ll miss you every day that I walk this earth.  I’ll do whatever I can to carry on your legacy and make you proud. I love you Dad.”

Jack, 21, who is known in the wrestling world as “Jungle Boy,” the name in which he wrestles under, recently dropped out of his upcoming match on March 13. His post comes a day after his sister Sophie, 18, shared a grateful message for the outpouring of love and support the family has received.

“I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So bear with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”
