Every year as the holidays approach, I look forward to shamelessly listening to my favorite classic Christmas songs on repeat— including, of course, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
The song, which was originally released in 1994, has truly surpassed time. According to Bustle, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” originally released in 1994, is the most popular holiday song in the United States and the top selling Christmas song of all time. And, as it turns out, Mariah Carey’s kids are just as obsessed with the song as the rest of us.
In a rare video she shared on her Instagram, Mariah is seen in the car with her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, as they turn on her holiday hit. “Roc & Roe have been practicing the background vocals to “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, we’re gonna take this one step at a time – we’re very excited about it,” Mariah said alongside the adorable video. “It’s our first video doing this! It’s festive, Cmon!!”
“The crazy thing about it is, every year it tends to increase in popularity. I’m very thankful that people seem to still have an attachment to it,” Mariah Carey told Billboard of the song in 2017. “It makes me feel good when people tell me that it’s part of their lives.”
