Mary-Kate Olsen has kept much of her life private since leaving Full House. But now, news of her divorce has gone public.

According to various reports and leaked court documents, Olsen has requested an emergency order to file for divorce from her husband Olivier Sarkozy. She actually signed a petition to divorce her husband back on April 17, but the continuing spread of the coronavirus has kept New York from doing these sorts of divorce filings.

That’s why an emergency order was needed.

Olsen and Sarkozy originally started dating back in 2012 and got engaged two years later. They were married in November 2015, with many noticing the fact that the two have a 16-year age gap between them.

“Everyone has an opinion,” Olsen has said in the past, according to People magazine. “I find it’s better to focus on what’s in front of you and to keep putting one foot in front of the other.”

Fans will recall that Mary-Kate and her twin sister Ashley Olsen appeared on the much loved television show Full House for many years. In later years, the pair tended to keep a lower profile while pursuing a career in design.

We sincerely hope that Olsen finds happiness, with or without her current husband.
