Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making some big plans. The royal couple has announced that they will be stepping back as ‘senior members’ of the Royal Family and spending more time in North America.

In a post on Instagram, Prince Harry and Meghan shared a joyful photo of the two alongside the lengthy caption that reveals their upcoming plans.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” they wrote. “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.

The Prince and Meghan welcomed their first child Archie Harrison in May.
