“America’s Got Talent” Judge Mel B Shares Struggle With Alcohol and Sex Addiction as she Enters Rehab: “I Am Still Struggling”

-

As “America’s Got Talent” prepares to choose a winner of their talent competition in the coming weeks, judge Mel B has also made an important choice – she’s going to rehab.

“The past six months have been incredibly difficult for me,” “America’s Got Talent” judge Mel B says in an interview with The Sun on Sunday (Aug. 26.) “I am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on. Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol — it is underneath all that.”

Mel B went on to say that she is aware that she is at a crisis point and that she will seek treatment in the UK next month, coincidentally at the conclusion of this season of “America’s Got Talent.”

“I am still struggling but if I can shine a light on the issue of pain, PTSD and the things men and women do to mask it, I will do,” she went on to say. “I am speaking about this because this is a huge issue for so many people.”

Fans will recall that Mel B finalized her divorce from husband Stephen Belafonte back in December of 2017. The former “Spice Girls” member is also the mom of three.
