It’s safe to say that Ed Sheeran would not have won the GRAMMY for Song of the Year in 2016 if Google Translate got a hold of his lyrics.

Jimmy Fallon has figured this out. His most recent offering to Google Translate included Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” Janis Joplin’s “Son of a Preacher Man,” Rick James’ “Super Freak” and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

Miley Cyrus started off the weird karaoke with “Shape of You” and could likely get arrested as the lyrics translate to “I like that cadaver.” Eek.

Janis Joplin’s classic “Son of a Preacher Man” would not be the same if we all took it as literal as Google Translate– “minister’s male child” just doesn’t have the same catchy vibe.

Jimmy could also find himself in the slammer if he tries to purchase a baby. No matter how high the mountains.

Can you imagine if Ed came back from a year off and the first lyrics he offered up to people were, “I like that cadaver?” Too funny.
