Nearly 25 years since the sex scandal that lead to President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial back in the nineties comes word of a new season of American Crime Story that will focus in on those tense days.
And guess what? Monica Lewinsky will serve as a producer on the project.
“People have been co-opting and telling my part in this story for decades,” Lewinsky told Vanity Fair just hours after FX made the series announcement on Tuesday (August 6.) “In fact, it wasn’t until the past few years that I’ve been able to fully reclaim my narrative; almost 20 years later. But I’m so grateful for the growth we’ve made as a society that allows people like me who have been historically silenced to finally reintroduce my voice to the conversation.”
Impeachment: American Crime Story will feature Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, Beanie Feldstein as Lewinsky and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones. It has yet to be announced who will play the Clintons.
And make no mistake – this was not an easy decision for Lewinsky to make.

“I was hesitant, and truthfully more than a little scared to sign on,” Lewinsky further states in the interview.
Impeachment: American Crime Story is set to premiere Sunday, September 27, 2020, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
