I don’t care what anyone says. “Legally Blonde” is one of the best movies from our generation, hands down. If you don’t agree, please stop reading this article immediately, because you don’t deserve to hear what might be the best news I’ve heard all year; Reese Witherspoon is heading back to the big screen for “Legally Blonde 3.” No, this is NOT a drill.
According to Deadline, the movie will be co-produced by the original producers Marc Platt and Adam Siegel only this time, they’ll be joined by Reese Witherspoon herself through her company, Hello Sunshine.
No word on the plot has been released— but if you remember the second movie, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde,” we saw Elle head to Washington, D.C. to discuss animal rights on behalf of her dog Bruiser’s mom. After many obstacles similar to what she experienced in the first “Legally Blonde,” Elle’s discharge petition is successful.
At the very end, Elle’s husband Emmett asks her if she wants to live in Washington D.C., Beverly Hills or Boston and, as they drive by the White House, Elle says, “Oh I think I know just the place,” and winks.
With that in mind, one can only hope that this next film will show Elle Woods as the first female president of the United States, but only time will tell! No word on when the movie will premiere, but in the meantime, we’ll be reminiscing by watching the first two movies on repeat— and freshening up on our bend and snap.
