Tom Hanks Transformed Into Mister Rogers for His New Movie and We’re Already Crying

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, indeed!

In case you missed it, Sony Pictures is in the process of creating a new movie about the late Mister Rogers— specifically, the film will tell the story of a reporter who (of course) develops a sweet bond with Mister Rogers while writing a profile on him for a magazine. And who better to play Mister Rogers than sweet ol’ Tom Hanks?

Sony Pictures took to Twitter to share what might be the best photo we’ve seen all year of Hanks completely transformed into Mister Rogers and truly, we had to do a double take. From the iconic button-down sweater to the hair, Hanks is basically a clone of Mister Rogers himself.

“Tom Hanks is Mister Rogers, coming to a neighborhood near you October 2019,” they said alongside the photo.

Fred Rogers passed away in 2003 of stomach cancer. His iconic show, “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” aired for 31 seasons, sadly ending in 2001.

As Sony stated, the movie is set to be released in October of 2019 and we cannot wait to see more!
