The Netflix series “House of Cards” is returning for it’s sixth and final season on Nov. 2 and the trailer does not disappoint.
Season 5 of “House of Cards” ended with Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright, looking at the camera saying “It’s my turn.” And sure enough, Claire takes over the White House, becoming President of the United States. But what becomes of her husband Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, and their partnership is unknown at this point.
“It is going to shock you beyond belief what happens in the end,” Robin told Today‘s Savannah Guthrie.
Shortly after news broke about Kevin Spacey’s (Frank Underwood) sexual misonduct accusations, the lead actor was let go from the popular series. However, according to Robin, it was always in the cards for her to become President.
“It was always the arc that she was going to be the first female President,” said Robin. “We’re going to explore all of that world.”
What we do know about season 6 is that it see the addition of acting veterans Greg Kinnear and Diane Lane. The two will play Annette Shepherd and Bill Shepherd, a brother and sister duo who run Shepherd Unlimited, which Netflix describes as “a leading industrial conglomerate.” One thing is for sure, Annette and Bill were brought on to stir up trouble for President Underwood and her new White House. But if you now anything about Claire Underwood, nothing will stand in her way.
Season 6 of “House of Cards” begins streaming on Netflix on Nov. 2.
