In a world that just might need a bit more spirituality, many of finding comfort in the brand new duet between the late Elvis Presley and his daughter Lisa Marie.
Isn’t technology amazing?
On the song “Where No One Stands Alone,” the famous father and daughter come together, with both of their voices shining on the stirring anthem. “It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father,” Lisa Marie wrote in the liner notes of the album by the same name. “The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way.”
What might even be more stirring for fans is the music video that accompanies the song, with the video including a number of family pics of the two along with in-studio footage of Lisa Marie in the studio.
“Recording with all that history, in rooms that Elvis recorded his most memorable tracks, with the singers that backed Elvis in his most powerful performances, and with the raw emotion of his daughter Lisa Marie singing ‘with’ her father in the same room her father sang in a memory that we will cherish for the rest of our lives, and beyond,” Joel Weinshanker, one of the project’s producers, told Rolling Stone in a statement.
And while the song originally appeared on Elvis’ 1967 album “How Great Thou Art,” its sentiments seem to ring so true today. “This was his favorite genre — no question about it,” Presley wrote in the liner notes. “He seemed to be at his most passionate, and at peace while singing gospel. He would truly come alive — whether he was singing just for himself and me at home, or on stage in front of thousands of fans.”
