One Country Give partnered with Numana, Inc. to host a successful meal packing event in Nashville on February 15 to benefit Second Harvest Food Back of Middle Tennessee. Meals that were packaged were donated to Second Harvest to feed children throughout middle Tennessee.

The Saturday afternoon event was held at Cross Point Church in Nashville from 12pm -4pm and marked One Country’s first meal packing event since launching One Country Give, the company’s ever-expanding charitable arm, in the summer of 2019.

Friends, family and community group volunteers packaged tens of thousands of meals in the four hour period as music played throughout the venue. Tables of 10 were set up in rows, where each team member and team leader had their own task to accomplish from scooping the food, measuring it out, sealing the bags and packaging up a full  box.

Throughout the day country artists, who volunteered their time, would take the stage to perform for the volunteers.  The Voice winner, Jake Hoot, Lena Stone, The Voice finalist Barrett Baber and CJ Solar played their hits as volunteers worked away. But that wasn’t all. They didn’t just performed, they also volunteered their time to join others at the tables, packing food, and dressed int the supplied aprons and hairnets.

Brooke Eden, Leah Turner, Lewis Brice, Rachel Wammack, Morgan Myles, Jordan Rager, Rachel Reinert and Brittany Brexton volunteered their time to be a part of the event and digging in to pack meals.

In the midst of the food packing, One Country took a moment to reveal the winner of their $1 Million Ozark Ranch giveaway,  Carolyn Z. In a Facebook live event, host Kelly Sutton and CEO Rich Morris called Carolyn from the stage, to share the news. Carolyn accepted the $600,000 cash option saying,  “For someone like me who’s had a lifetime of unfortunate things, you have completely changed my life I’ve never felt so blessed.” Congratulations to Carolyn Z.

Then it was back to meal packing. But that wasn’t the end of the giveaways. During the event, event sponsor Twisted X gave away new pairs of shoes to the table that packed the most meals in 10 minutes, followed by a contest to pack the most meals in 20 minutes.

All in all, the event saw 500+ Nashvillians lend their time to give back for the full four hours, packing 165,000 meals to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Special thanks to WAY-FM and KLOVE for being a part of the event and helping to gather volunteers. And a very big thank you to the Nashville community and all the volunteers who came out to help us give back to a great cause.

We couldn’t have done it without you.
