Say it ain’t so. One of Bachelor Nations favorite suitors, Peter Weber, (aka Pete the Pilot) had to say goodbye to Hannah Brown on Part 1 of Monday night’s (July 29) Bachelorette season finale, as she handed out her final two roses.

One rose went to musician Jed Wyatt and the other went to fan-favorite Tyler Cameron. As Hannah said goodbye to Peter, not a dry eye was left in the viewing audience. Peter professed his love for Hannah once again before saying goodbye.

I’m trying to be strong right now.  You will truly always have a piece of my heart and I truly mean that. This sucks right now and this hurts but I don’t regret anything about it. I truly don’t” Cue the collective sighs.

But that was then and this is now and Peter is picking up the pieces. The 27-year-old pilot took to Instagram to share his gratitude to Hannah and everyone who has supported him.

“Gratitude,” he wrote. “The feeling that has consumed me all season and especially now at the end of this journey. Thank you Hannah for the opportunity to pursue your heart. You will always have a little bit of mine after the time we were able to spend together. Thank you to my brothers from the house. I know we all learned a lot about ourselves during this experience and I’m so happy I was able to make these memories with you guys. Thank you to @bacheloretteabcfor giving this hopeless romantic a once in a lifetime experience I will never forget. Thank you to my amazing family for always having my back, I think everyone understands where my emotions come from now.”

But Tyler couldn’t end it there without mentioning the famous windmill that will follow him forever. “Thank you to my friends for giving me more windmill jokes than I know what to do with. And thank you Bachelor Nation. I have felt your love and support since night one and I couldn’t be more thankful. Everyone on this planet deserves that ‘indescribable, words won’t do it justice, make your heart skip a beat’ type of love. Never stop until you find it ❤️.”

Leaving the show at the last minute only means that your chances of being the Bachelor, with the opportunity to find new love with 25-30 new women, next season is that much greater. Perhaps Peter will take the reins and truly find love elsewhere. Or perhaps he’ll just go on his merry way.

After the finale ended and Peter was sent home, the bachelor added more thanks with a video message on Twitter.

“Hey guys it’s Peter. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. This whole journey has been so amazing for me and I felt all of your love and support every step of the way. So I wanted to say thank you, it’s been a ride. And to Hannah, I will always be rooting for you. I wish you nothing but all the happiness in the world and thank you for an amazing time.”

While Peter may have had his heartbroken by Hannah Brown, there is still a bright side ladies. He’s available.
