The sudden death of someone close to you is something that never fully leaves your heart, especially on those milestone days when they should be here living out their life. One of those days just occurred for racer Carey Hart, who lost his brother Anthony Hart in a tragic accident back in 2008.
“There is always a black cloud over this amazing event,” Carey wrote on his Instagram page on Thursday (Aug. 9) while attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. “10 years ago today I got the call that my brother Anthony passed away during a race. Can’t believe it’s already been 10 years. Miss you lil bro. Always wonder the man you would have grown into.”
Hart posted the sweet sentiment alongside a picture of the two of them together. Anthony was taken from the world much too soon as a result of a crash during a practice at Stafford Motor Speedway in Connecticut where he sustained severe head injuries.
He was just 21 years old at the time of his death.
Indeed, it’s been an emotional time not only for Hart, but also for his wife Pink, who has been experiencing health issues of her own as of late while touring overseas.
