Pop singer Pink has always been open to showing the cracks in her heart. And in a recent interview with USA Today, she did just that, revealing that she had suffered a miscarriage as a teen.
In the interview, Pink was asked a question about the revealing lyrics of the song “Happy,” featured on her latest album Hurts TB Human.

“Since I was 17 / I’ve always hated my body / And it feels like my body’s hated me / Can somebody find me a pill to make me un-afraid of me?” she sings, kicking off the song.
“The reason I said [that] is because I’ve always had this very tomboy, very strong gymnast body, but actually at 17 I had a miscarriage,” Pink said“And I was going to have that child. But when that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it’s not doing what it’s supposed to do.”
In fact, during the same interview, Pink revealed that she has had a number of miscarriages throughout her life.
“I’ve had several miscarriages since, so I think it’s important to talk about what you’re ashamed of, who you really are and the painful s—,” she admits. “I’ve always written that way.”
Pink and her husband Carey Hart recently celebrated their 13thwedding anniversary and have two children together – seven-year-old daughter Willow Sage and 2-year-old son Jameson Moon.
“He’s the biggest part of my village,” Pink says of her husband. “Hurts 2B Human is not as angsty and marital as previous records. There’s certainly not a place for ‘So What’ (Pink’s 2008 hit) right now.”
