Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle made a big step in the world of social media. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have started their very own Instagram account. What took them so long?
The new account will allow the couple to share events and announcements that pertain to Prince Harry and Meghan. In their first post, made on Tuesday (April 2), the couple shared 10 photos from their recent activities and causes, along with a photo stating that it is the “Official Instagram account of their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
Alongside the photos, the couple welcomed followers to their account. “Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”- Harry & Meghan,” the post read.
Only 2 hours in and the royal account already has 386k followers and counting. If you’re looking to follow the royal couple, you just need to look for @sussexroyal and follow.
You may have gotten your Duke and Duchess updates from the Kensington Palace social account in the past, one that they shared with William and Kate, but now you can have Prince Harry and Meghan all to yourselves with 24/7 content solely about them.
In a show of support, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed the couple to Instagram. “Welcome to Instagram, @SussexRoyal!” they posted.
And even Instagram welcomed the happy couple, with a message that we can all echo. “Ummm… hello! Welcome ❤️ We are so happy you are here.”
