In a press conference shortly after the arrival of his first son on May 6, Prince Harry spoke to the media about his first birthing experience and share some details.

“I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning,” the Prince said. “A very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension but we’re both absolutely thrilled. We’re so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there. It’s been amazing so I just wanted to share this with everyone.”

He continued, “We’re still thinking about names. The baby is a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it, but that’s the next bit. For us we’ll be seeing you in two days time as planned, as a family to be able to share it with you guys, so everyone can see the baby. As I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for. So I’m just over the moon.”

The couple posted the video on Instagram, on their @Sussexroyal page, with a caption that read, “This afternoon, His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex shared the news of the arrival of his and the Duchess’ first born child. Their son was born early morning on the 6th of May, 2019 and weighs 7lbs and 3oz.
