If you thought “Housewives of Dallas” had drama, wait until you watch CMT’s new series “Racing Wives,” which premieres Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
In a new two-minute sneak peek of the show, viewers get an up-close look at the highs and lows that life as a NASCAR wife can bring. Things are not always as they appear. While there are mansions, red carpets and tons of glitz and glamour, there is also plenty of secrets, backstabbing and competition.
The show features Ashley and Samantha Busch, who are married to brothers Kurt and Kyle Busch. Whitney Ward Dillon, who is married to this year’s Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon, also makes an appearance, as does Amber Balcaen, who is currently working her way up to a spot on the starting grid of NASCAR’s most exciting series as well as several of the Monster Energy Models.
The high-end lifestyle is prevalent in the sneak peek and shows some of the wives popping champagne bottles on private planes, posing for photos at red carpet events, and picturesque views from their homes in Lake Norman. “The lifestyle is insane,” one woman says in the clip.
“Being the wife of a driver is awesome,” Samantha Busch says while spending time with her husband and young son. “But at the end of the day, I’m giving my husband a kiss and sending him in a race car that’s going 200 miles an hour. You don’t know what’s going to happen.”
The video then pans to a crash on the race car track — every wife’s worst nightmare.
“I don’t know why it’s so hard for all of us to get along,” Mariel, one of the Monster Energy Models, says in one scene.
The new series premieres in January, but NASCAR fans can get a taste of the show in the clip below.
