News broke last month that former View co-host Rosie O’Donnell had broken up with her fiancée Elizabeth Rooney. But from the sounds of it, all hope is not lost.
At least, not yet.
“I’m good,” O’Donnell told Extra during an interview this week about her fiancée of nearly one year. “We are still figuring things out. It’s hard in the public light. It’s hard for a person who is a normal person in a normal job. I’m kind of used to it. We are trying to figure it out. I am a hopeful person and I am hoping for the best.”
O’Donnell was in New York to celebrate the success of her non-profit Rosie’s Theater Kids on Monday, attending the event with her children.
“They are supposed to be here and we are supposed to be taking photos with the family — my children and their respective dates,” she said. “It’s a big night. They each brought their respective boyfriend or girlfriend.”
The 57-year-old comedian also talked about being on hand to witness the birth of her granddaughter recently.
“I got there just in time,” she said of her daughter Chelsea’s recent delivery. “She had just pushed the baby out and I got to hold her when she was just spanking new. Chelsea has grown a lot — having a baby and being in a committed relationship. Now, we all root for each other. I told her, whether she believes it or not, I am her mother and it’s the mother’s job to guide you into adulthood. She is really maturing and I am really proud of her and looking forward to seeing them for the holidays.”
