The hardest working man in show business needs a break. Fans were concerned following American Idol’s finale when Ryan Seacrest caused them to worry about his health when his speech slowed and one eye began to close.
While Ryan was filming the finale on Sunday, fans noticed that the host seemed to out of sorts and jumbled his words. They took to social media to voice their concerns for the 45-year-old. Many thought that Ryan was having a stroke.
“Ryan Seacrest are you ok?? You look like something’s wrong. #IdolFinale,” one fan wrote.
“Is @RyanSeacrest okay? Not making light of this. He went from normal to his speech being off and his eye shutting halfway,” another wrote, sharing a video of the host.

While Ryan was absent from his morning gig, Live with Kelly and Ryan on Monday morning following the finale (Kelly’s husband Mark Consuelos filled in), he returned to work on Tuesday morning to clear the air.
“I want to thank Mark for filling in yesterday. I appreciate that,” Ryan said. “He’s so good at it. And also the very kind well wishes for my exhaustion. Working round-the-clock so I got a day off to relax. And here we are once again at it on Live.”
For more clarification, Ryan’s rep released a statement regarding his health.
“Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night,” a statement to People read “Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home. Between Live with Kelly and Ryan, American Idol, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three-four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off.”
We hope Ryan can get some rest now that America Idol is over, but we have a feeling he’ll find another project to fill his time. Get some sleep Ryan.
