As the world continues to grapple with the seemingly sudden death of Luke Perry, his teen daughter Sophie has found a way to ensure that his name lives on forever.

“Thank you to everybody who donated to help with our projects,” Sophie wrote on her Instagram page Monday (April 29) alongside a pic of the preschool in Africa that is now named after her late father. “Our first school is finished and I can’t tell you how proud and excited I am to see it open on Wednesday. Thank you to my amazing partner Ruben for everything. Especially for fighting to name the school after my dad.”

Sophie has been living in Malawi with friends, helping to build preschools in rural communities. In fact, the 18-year-old was in Malwai when news broke in March that Luke passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a massive stroke. In the months since his death, she returned to Africa, to help those less fortunate.

Her dad would be so very proud of her.

Various Instagram pics have even showed her wearing an “Andrews Construction” hat while in Africa, referring to the name of the company that was owned by Perry ‘s character Fred Andrews, in the fictional series Riverdale.
