“Southern Charm’s” Thomas Ravenel Arrested for Assault and Battery

Back in August, “Southern Charm” star Thomas Ravenel announced his decision to leave the show after accusations of sexual assault were made against him.

“I’m not doing the show anymore,” he Tweeted at the time on his now-private account. “In the contract, they have the right to fictionalize your story. They took advantage of me. I decided I’ve got too much to lose and informed them I’m not coming back.”

According to E! News, Ravenel was arrested on Tuesday, September 25 in Charleston County, South Carolina on charges of alleged assault and second-degree battery.

No details surrounding his arrest have been released, however, the Charleston County Sherrif’s Office confirmed to E! that Ravenel is currently in custody.

Amid his decision to leave the show, Ravenel did not appear on the “Southern Charm” reunion taping. Andy Cohen shared a statement at the time, saying:

“Along with Bravo, our client made the mutual decision not to attend today’s reunion taping as there is a pending investigation. Our client is fully cooperating with authorities on that investigation. He expects to be completely vindicated once the investigation is concluded. He sends his best regards to his fans and his fellow castmates.”
