It was the Tweet heard round the world. Just as Roseanne was making one of TV’s best comebacks with her sitcom “Roseanne” and just as it was renewed for a second season, it was cancelled.

The actress tweeted out racist comments about Valerie Jarrett, President Obama’s former advisor, which ABC could not and would not tolerate. The tweet read, “if muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”

The ABC brass were not happy and immediately made the announcement to cancel her very popular show. That’s not all, her peers and fellow celebrities decided to speak out on the matter and they weren’t coming to Roseanne’s defense. In fact, most were glad to see her go.

Co-star Sara Gilbert (Darlene), distanced herself from the show’s star saying “Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.”
