There are a great many things that are wonderful about being one of the biggest singing stars in the world. But for Taylor Swift, one of the worst things about being a superstar is when that worldwide attention puts you in danger.
On Thursday (March 7,) Roger Alvarado was arrested in the middle of the night after breaking into Swift’s New York apartment…again. According to E! News, Alvarado had climbed onto a balcony outside of her apartment and had used a brick to break a window and gain entry. Alvarado has been charged with burglary, criminal contempt because he violated order of protection, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.
Luckily, Swift was not home at the time of the break-in.
This is the second time in less than a year that Alvarado has been arrested for breaking into Swift’s apartment. He was also arrested last April for breaking in and was officially sentenced to six months in jail.
Coincidentally, on the same day as the break-in, Swift headed to her Instagram page and wrote a somewhat apropos message for these trying times.
“We have to live bravely in order to truly feel alive, and that means not being ruled by our greatest fears,” she wrote.
