The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice, is speaking out after the murder of U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas’ son during a home invasion.
Jude Salas’ family was attacked Sunday evening (July 19), when an assailant came to the door dressed in a FED Ex delivery uniform and opened fire on Salas’ son when he opened the door. Salas’ husband, defense attorney Mark Anderl, was standing behind their son and was shot several times. Her son was killed and her husband is currently in the hospital.
“Teresa was very shaken by the news and was very emotional when she heard about it,” Teresa’s attorney James Leonard Jr. said in a statement to PEOPLE.
Salas was the judge on Teresa and her ex-husband Joe Guidice’s tax evasion and bankruptcy fraud case, where she sentenced Teresa to 15 months in jail (she served 11 months) and her husband Joe 41 months in prison. Joe was also ordered to be deported to Italy, where he currently resides as he continues to fight the deportation decision..
“She called me this morning at 6:30 a.m. and asked if there was any update and I told her I had read online that the son had passed away,” Leonard added. “She was very emotional when she heard that. She told me that she would be praying very heavily for Judge Salas and her family. This is absolutely devastating.”
News broke in December 2019 that both Joe and Teresa decided to end their marriage.
““It’s time to let go,” Joe posted next to a photos of himself and Teresa, with a link to a story about the couple’s separation.
