“The Middle” Star Eden Sher Confirms She’s Working on a Spinoff: “I Think It’s Going To Be Great”

ABC’s hit show “The Middle” ended this year after nine seasons on the air, leaving fans annoyed, disappointed and, of course, wanting more. Now, in the wave of the countless reboots, revivals and sequels currently in the works, “The Middle” could be making a comeback thanks to Eden Sher.

The actress, who played Sue Heck in the OG “The Middle,” recently spoke with TVLine where she stated she’s working on a pilot episode for a spinoff of the show. “I hope it gets picked up,” she said. “I think it’s going to be great.”

Of course, she didn’t divulge a ton of info on the premise of the potential reboot but did give a vague response as to what it could (and what it wouldn’t) be about: “It would not be in the flash forward, I can tell you that,” she said. “She’s not going to be married.” Sue would likely have recently graduated from college.”

After nine seasons on “The Middle,” Sher says the show will always hold a special spot in her heart. “Sue, she’ll always have a place in my heart. There’s so much of Sue in me,” she said. “I can see playing her, as long as it’s not, like Sue in high school, which honestly, it hasn’t even been for the last few seasons of the show.”

No word on whether any of her castmates from the original show will be joining her, but we can’t wait to hear more!
