Todd Chrisley once looked like he had it all. And then, he found himself hit with a whole bunch of reality.
The latest public struggle for the Chrisley Knows Best star involves his daughter Lindsie Chrisley, who accused her father of attempted extortion after he claimed that she had participated in some extramarital affairs.
But now, Todd sounds like he is willing to forgive.
“She will always be my daughter, that will never change,” Todd said on the latest episode of his podcast Chrisley Confessions. “She is forgiven for what’s happened in the last week to 10 days. She is forgiven for what has happened in this investigation that she has contributed to. She’s forgiven for what she’s gonna do today and tomorrow.”
And while she may be forgiven, that doesn’t imply that Daddy is very happy with her, or pretty much any of his kids.
“It is a shame that I have raised five children, and that the jealousy and the greed and the backstabbing that has been exhibited towards a sibling is unconscionable,” he said on the podcast. “They’re going to be ashamed when something happens to each of them and then you can’t turn around and say, ‘I’m sorry,’ because it’s too late.”
This family drama comes at the same time as Chrisley is experiencing drama of his own, with him and his wife Julie currently under indictment for tax evasion and other crimes. Todd claims a trusted employee has accused the Chrisley family of everything from forging signatures to creating phony documents. Charges of tax evasion and bank fraud have plagued the family.
The couple denies any wrongdoing.
“it looks like later this week Julie and I are going to be named in a federal indictment charging us with tax evasion and probably a bunch of other financial crimes as well,” Todd said in a statement on Instagram. “I’m telling you all this now because we have nothing to hide and have done nothing to be ashamed of. Not only do we know we’ve done nothing wrong, but we’ve got a ton of hard evidence and a bunch of corroborating witnesses that proves it.”
