In yet another example that the world is somewhat heavy right now for everyone comes reports that TikTok star Siya Kakkar has died as a result of a suicide.
According to India Today, Kakkar died on June 25 at her residence in New Delhi. Just 20 hours before her death, she was on the social media platform via her phone that has yet to be unlocked at this time. She had uploaded a dance video and looked as if everything was okay.
“She lived with her family,”the Delhi Police told the news outlet. “Her family is in shock and has requested privacy. No suicide note has been recovered.”
Much like so many around the world, Kakkar had been on a coronavirus lockdown as of late and had been dealing with some depression over the past week. However, the influencer’s manager made it seem like it was business as normal for the social media star.
“This must be due to something personal…workwise she was doing well,”her manager Arjun Sarin told the newspaper. “I had a word with her last night for a new project and she sounded normal. My company Fame Experts and me manage lots of artists and Siya was a bright talent.”
According to CNN, Kakkar had nearly 2 million followers on TikTok prior to her death.
We send our condolences to all those who mourn her death.
