“America’s Got Talent” May Have Just Found the Next Janis Joplin in 13-Year-Old Courtney Hadwin

Throughout the years, countless wanna-be stars have stepped on the “America’s Got Talent” stage in the hopes of garnering some attention for their career. Yet, nearly no one has made the impression that Courtney Hadwin did when she stepped on the stage on Tuesday’s (June 12) show.

Looking shy and nervous, Hadwin shocked everyone when she tore into the song “Hard to Handle” by Otis Redding…and yes, she blew everyone away, including the coaches.

“Bloody hell, Courtney,” AGT judge Simon Cowell said after the performance. “You’re like this shy little thing when you first came out. And then you sing, and you’re like a lion. I mean, genuinely, incredible.”

“I’m not Clive Davis, I’m Howie Mandel,” the AGT judge added, recounting the memory of the famed producer and music executive discovering Janis Joplin so many years ago. “The only thing I can do for you, young lady, is give you…”

Exclaiming that she was ‘not from this era,’ Mandel went on to press his golden buzzer, which means that the vocal sensation will go directly to the live shows.

We can’t wait to see what else Hadwin has to show us, because we have this sneaky feeling that this just might be the beginning of her career.
