The late Steve Irwin’s son, Robert, is a frequent visitor on The Tonight Show. Between that and his family’s new Animal Planet series, “Crikey! It’s The Irwins,” Robert is just as natural on TV has his dad was— and his latest appearance was no exception to this.
During his latest visit with Jimmy Fallon, Robert Irwin announced that his family’s show has been renewed for its second season.
Steve Irwin’s family has continued to honor his legacy through continuing Wildlife research; his mission to bring people closer to animals is taken on by his family. Robert, his mom Terri, and his sister, Bindi show the world their wildlife adventures and capture their experiences for the world on the successful Animal Planet series.
The Irwin family’s show just wrapped up season 1, which followed them as they continued their crocodile research that Steve was famous for. The family helped an experienced crocodile team catch and plant the crocodiles with tracking devices for research. Each episode usually focuses on a different species of animal; they’ve shown tigers, giraffes, cobras, and lemurs just to name a few.
Since the show is officially greenlighted for a second season, viewers will continue to follow the family around the Australia Zoo where they care for 1,200 animals. Not only do they work at the zoo, but they lead global conservation expeditions, and manage a highly distinguished wildlife hospital.
Crikey! It’s the Irwins airs Sundays on Animal Planet at 8 p.m. ET.
